The Lord’s Supper

Making the Bread

As Jeremy last week spoke on the bread being unleavened, if you are wanting to make some at home then the following is a very simple recipe:

  1. 1/4 cup of all purpose flour (don’t use self-rising as it has leavening agents in it)
  2. 1 tbs of oil (I use olive oil)
  3. 1 tbs of water or a little less
  4. 1/2 or less tsp salt

You can mix this together and should be able to roll it into a ball in your hand to kneed it just a little bit. I rubbed with my fingers a little oil on the bottom of a small pan for the oven and then pressed the dough out flat into a relatively round and wafer like in thickness.

My oven was at 500 F (can be less) and I baked it for about 5 1/2 to 6 minutes. Just keep an eye on it. Should come out and cool to where you can easily break off pieces. Makes enough for a small group of 5 or 6 or so.
