Deepen your relationship with God, and then share with one other person. Take five or ten minutes now to meditate, say a prayer, take some deep breaths and let this verse wash over you.

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and focus your thoughts on the person of Jesus Christ. Don’t think about his invitation in the verse. Don’t even think about how tired you are or how he promises rest. Think about Jesus’ gentleness and humility. He has all power in his hands. He hates your sin, so much so that he died to break its power over your life. And you keep tripping up and stumbling, but instead of punishment or disgust, Jesus receives you with open arms. That is meekness. Jesus is the definition of gentleness. Spend time in the gentle presence of the Lord. Feel the beauty of his gentle spirit.
