What is your favorite translation of the Bible?

After I counted over 23 different translations of the Bible on my bookshelves, I said that I had a favorite but I failed to tell which one was my favorite. As it turns out, my favorite translation of the Bible is the person in whom God’s Word is written. It could be you.

When I see your heart go into a home, a store or a town and I see your hands reach out to touch, to bless the children, to do right by people; I see your life go where the Bible may not go. That’s the way God does it. God reaches people through the life (heart) of Jesus and through our lives (hearts). Paul called it the aroma and fragrance of Christ. Jesus called it the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You are God’s advertisement; We are living epistles. A true Christian is a beautiful translation of the gospel and the best translation of the Bible. Its power is the life of a Christian. What kind of translation are you? What message do people receive who read your life? The only experience that many people will ever have of God is in your life

Time Lab in action

It’s VBS time at Joelton. After the first night of action many questions remain: Will the doc fix “the machine” to become an adult again? Will she successfully write a history paper on the hero of the world? Did the villain indeed just listen to classical music and will he try to cause havoc?

Come and see. Daily through Thursday (July 12th) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Vacation Bible School 2018 registration

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is coming soon to Joelton. It will be Sunday (July 8th) through Thursday (July 12th) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. daily.

In this day and age, it’s vital that we teach our children that the Bible is more than just a dusty book of stories. We need to show them God’s Word connects to every area of our lives and is as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.

Online registration is now closed.

A Wonder-ful VBS

What a blast. This year’s VBS is over. It was filled with lots of learning, joy and laughter. We learned about the Bible and how it is the God’s guide for our lives, the Book of books, with incredible Impact, our Bedrock, our Love letter, and how we need to Explore it. Thank you to everyone who made VBS as success this year: the people on stage and behind the scenes; the helpers who prepared food, crafts, stages, and games; and all who came and participated, young and old. A special thank you to Mr. Buddy Wonder who made a special appearance on Day 5.
